ISLAMABAD: (Rizwan Abbasi) On the completion of 100 days of the current government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, while addressing a special press conference at Kashmir House, said that concrete and practical steps have been taken to restore public confidence in state institutions and promote good governance in a short period of time.
Finance Minister Qasim Majeed, Information Minister Rafiq Nayyar, Minister for Kashmir Cause Nabila Ayub, Food Minister Javed Badhanvi, Advisor to the Government Ahmed Saghir and Media Advisor Syed Azadar Kazmi were also present with the Prime Minister on the occasion of the press conference held at Kashmir House
The Prime Minister said that today our government has completed 100 days and during this time transparency, merit and public service have been made the axis of government policy. He said that in a short period of three months, the uncertainty and anxiety prevailing in the state were eliminated and full attention was paid to solving public problems by mobilizing the government machinery.
Faisal Mumtaz Rathore said that we have established direct contact with the people, opened the doors of the Prime Minister’s House to the common citizens and made the grievance redressal system active. He said that before taking over the government, the political and administrative system had become ineffective, however, the current government has created political and administrative stability in the state.
He added that during the 100 days, several reforms were initiated to improve governance, while the foundation of several development projects has also been laid. He said that although time is short, we are trying to leave a strong and sustainable foundation for future generations.
Regarding the overseas Kashmiris, the Prime Minister said that special courts have been established to resolve disputes related to the properties of Kashmiris living abroad and an overseas commissioner has also been appointed. He said that a meaningful discussion has been started to include the overseas community in the state development process.
Commenting on the regional and national situation, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan is currently going through difficult times and national unity is the need of the hour. Our brave armed forces personnel are defending the borders by sacrificing their lives and we strongly condemn all forms of aggression by the enemy.
He said that the freedom of Kashmir is linked to the security of Pakistan and the Kashmiri people have stood by Pakistan at every opportunity. After the struggle for justice, the Kashmir issue has become more prominent at the global level and the international community should play its effective role for a just and lasting solution to the Kashmir issue.
The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir reiterated the resolve that the confidence of the people of the state has been restored and all government institutions are actively working for public service in a full-fledged manner.
