WAZIRABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has made a significant breakthrough in their efforts to crack down on human smuggling, with the arrest of Aslam Ashraf, a key suspect in the Greece boat tragedy, from Wazirabad.
Ashraf resident of Saroke Cheema, has allegedly taken sums upwards of Rs2.5 million to facilitate illegal emigration to different European states.
Reportedly, the smuggler would then facilitate illegal migration through perilous donkey routes, endangering human lives. Ashraf sent two individuals which are still missing in the Greece boat incident, highlighting the bizarre consequences of such dangerous and illegal practices.
Meanwhile, the FIA has developed crucial indictment evidence-such as victim complaints and records connecting Ashraf to the crime-for a possibly formidable case to be built against him.
As inquiries continue, the FIA works diligently at braking up other smuggling networks in order to quell such Islamic tragedies in the future.
