ISLAMABAD: The Cyber Crime Cell of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has issued notices to owners of Siyasat. pk and Raftar web platforms, alleging an “anti-state campaign on social media”.
The Islamabad Cyber Crime Circle of the FIA has initiated an inquiry into the matter and has directed Adeel Habib owner of Siyasat. pk and Farhan Gauhar Mallick owner of Raftar to appear before them on November 20, 2024, at 10:00 am.
The legal notice states that failure to attend the hearing will be deemed as an admission of guilt, implying that they have no defense to plead. The two digital website owners are residents of Karachi and Canada.
Furthermore, failure to comply with the notice will constitute an offense punishable under Section 174 of the Pakistan Penal Code. This development highlights the FIA’s efforts to crack down on alleged anti-state activities on social media platforms.
