KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that a case has been registered against the accused involved in cutting off the camel’s leg in Sanghar district and they have been arrested, here on Saturday.

As per the issued statement, the provincial minister said that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah had taken notice of the incident, adding that 5 accused have been arrested.

He further said that the matter was settled between the accused and the owner of the camel but it was not humanely acceptable and a case was registered by the state.

A landowner in Sindh’s Sanghar district allegedly chopped off a camel’s leg as punishment for littering his field for fodder.

According to the police, the incident took place on Friday in Mund Jamrao village of Sanghar district.

At the Sanghar Press Club, the owner of the camel, Soomer Khan, narrated the incident along with his camel. I have no enmity with anyone. “I don’t know why this was done to my camel,” he said.

SSP Sanghar took notice of the incident after the video of the camel with the cut leg went viral on social media.

As the farmer refused to identify the culprit and press charges against him, the police registered an FIR under sections 429 and 34 PPC against unidentified persons on behalf of the state, police officials said.
