Amir & Imad set to retire from international cricket again

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani cricketers Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim are once again going to retire from international cricket, the official announcement of which is expected soon.

As per the details, Imad had previously retired in November 2023 but returned after a successful campaign in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024, where he helped Islamabad United to victory and was named Player of the Match in the final against Multan Sultans. Received the award. Amir had earlier retired from international cricket in 2020.

Both the players returned to international cricket to participate in T20 World Cup 2024.

Imad explained his return by saying, “We came back for one reason: not just to play. Me and Amir came back last time to win the World Cup. We played in the semis of the T20 World Cup. There were finals and finals, which is a major achievement.”

He added that his return was motivated by his desire to represent Pakistan at the highest level and end his career on a high note, aiming to make the nation happy.

Despite their high hopes, Pakistan failed to advance beyond the first round of the T20 World Cup, leading to the retirement of Amir and Imad once again. However, he will continue to play in various cricket leagues.

His last match for Pakistan will be played against Ireland on Sunday. Both cricketers’ performances in the World Cup fell short of expectations, marking a disappointing end to their international careers.
