ISLAMABAD: The leading American journal Foreign Policy has released a report on Pakistan-US relations.
According to the report, Pakistan has built the most effective and successful diplomatic relations during Trump’s second term. President Trump has developed strong personal chemistry with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, whom he has invited to the White House several times.
Pakistan has gained the trust of the US president through timely cooperation, including helping to arrest the mastermind of the Kabul blast. Pakistan has benefited from the relationship by investing in sectors such as Trump’s close lobbyist, crypto and minerals.
The main success came in the critical minerals sector, which includes a $500 million deal between the FWO and an American company. Crypto cooperation increased, and the Pakistan Crypto Council increased its partnership with World Liberty Financial.
The report further states that Trump’s attitude towards India is tough, due to tariffs, Russian oil and recent Pakistan-India tensions.
Pakistan openly gave credit for the May ceasefire to Trump, while India rejected it. The US narrative has softened towards Pakistan due to the warmongering.
Pakistan wants its relations with the US not to be seen in the context of a third country.
