ISLAMABAD: Electricity rates are likely to be reduced due to the monthly fuel cost adjustment to provide relief to consumers across Pakistan, here on Friday.

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has submitted a request to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) for a reduction in electricity prices by 65 paise per unit.

Nepra will hear the request on November 27.

The request is related to the October fuel adjustment, which will be applicable to electricity consumers across the country, including Karachi.

Currently, the September monthly fuel adjustment is in effect across the country.

Electricity prices were reduced by 48 paise in September due to the fuel cost adjustment.
