Gen Asim Munir inaugurates Innovista Indus IT Park in Karachi

KARACHI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Friday visited the area of ​​responsibility of the Karachi Corps, where he was briefed on the Army’s operational preparations and key training initiatives.

During his visit, COAS also inaugurated the Innovista Indus IT Park, a centre aimed at empowering the youth of Pakistan by promoting academia-industry collaboration in the field of information technology, particularly artificial intelligence.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and prominent members of the civil community participated in the inauguration ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Sindh Chief Minister emphasized the importance of IT domain for economic development and making maximum use of the talents of the youth.

COAS Munir highlighted that such projects are aimed at providing a highly conducive environment to further promote the growth of the IT industry in the country, which is already accelerating at a respectable pace.

The Army Chief also interacted with the business community of Karachi. COAS appreciated the contribution of the business community and traders in the economic development of the country.

The participants expressed confidence and appreciated the role of SIFC in achieving positive economic indicators, which are providing a conducive environment for further economic growth. The COAS appreciated the efforts of the federal and provincial governments to support all the initiatives and remarked that those trying to create frustration and despair in the society have been defeated by the collective efforts of all stakeholders.

COAS appreciated the laudable role played by brother and friendly countries especially China, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates in helping us in various fields in the economic recovery of Pakistan.

“Pakistan has remarkable potential in various fields and everyone should have unwavering faith and confidence in Pakistan’s bright future. He added that given its immense resources and potential, Pakistan is destined to be among the nations of the world. May he find his rightful position, God willing.

Earlier, Corps Commander Karachi welcomed the Army Chief on his arrival.
