DHAKA: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza visited the Army Headquarters during his official visit to Bangladesh and met with Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting expressed satisfaction over the positive progress in defense cooperation between the two countries, and it was decided to continue the series of visits at various levels between the top leadership of the two armies.
During the talks, the changing situation of regional and global security was discussed in detail.
The two military leaders stressed the need to further strengthen cooperation between the armed forces of Pakistan and Bangladesh.
On this occasion, it was also agreed to increase mutual cooperation in areas such as training, joint exercises and exchange of experiences in counter-terrorism.
The meeting also expressed concern that misleading and divisive information campaigns on various platforms have become an emerging challenge.
Both sides agreed that joint efforts and cooperation will be made more effective to address such threats.
