GILGIT: According to the unconfirmed and unofficial results of the Gilgit-Baltistan elections, the PPP won 10 seats while the PML-N won 4 seats.
Independent candidates, including a candidate supported by the PTI, won seven seats, while one seat went to the Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen.
The Election Commission has declared the polling invalid in two constituencies and ordered re-polling. It should be noted that there is a strong possibility of forming a government in Gilgit-Baltistan with the PPP and PML-N alliance.
Sources say that the PPP and PML-N alliance in Gilgit-Baltistan is expected to be on the PDM model, with the Chief Minister being from the PPP and the Governor being from the PML-N. According to sources, the formula for distributing ministries in the coalition government will be 60/40.
It should be noted that the Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan declared the polling held in the female polling station Loshi/Joshi Thakik of constituency GBA-15 Diamer-I invalid.
According to the notification, the polling process was repeatedly suspended due to stone-pelting, firing and poor law and order situation during the polling, as a result of which the majority of voters could not exercise their right to vote. The Election Commission has ordered re-polling at the relevant polling station on June 15, 2026.
In addition, the Election Commission Gilgit-Baltistan has declared the polling of three polling stations of GBA-16 null and void, including Gechi, Thor Khaya and BHU Thor Sri polling stations, and the polling will be held again on June 15.
