ISLAMABAD: Important legislation may be considered in the negotiations between the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the government, according to the sources.
The sources further stated that the customs duty may be considered to be removed from the NFC. Customs duty should be a part of the federation only, not the national revenue, the federation’s position.
The federal government may take the PPP into confidence on important legal points. The share of the provinces in the NFC will not be reduced; the share will remain at 57.5 percent under the NFC, sources added.
In the upcoming budget, loans will be paid by paying customs duty of Rs 1,700 billion to the federation. The IMF has demanded a surplus of Rs 2,000 billion from the provinces.
The PPP will be celebrated for being the provincial governments of Sindh and Balochistan.
