ISLAMABAD: Soon after assuming the additional charge of the Ministry of Law, Fawad Chaudhry on Saturday ordered to form a commission to probe the “foreign conspiracy” behind the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Fawad Chaudhry was given the additional charge of the law ministry after the resignation of barrister Farogh Naseem who had stepped down from the post after the MQM-P decided to part ways with the ruling PTI.

According to a statement issued by the law ministry, the commission will analyse the no-confidence motion from various angles and probe factors such as the change in the government through an international conspiracy.

Meanwhile, Chaudhry ordered a major reshuffle in the law ministry in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore and directed the officials to perform their responsibilities efficiently.

FIA assigned task to arrest Shahbaz, Hamza

Meanwhile, well-placed sources have said that the federal government is making efforts to get the bails of PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shahbaz cancelled.

The sources said that the law ministry has issued notice to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in this regard.

‘Self-appointed prime minister’

A day earlier, Fawad had said that the PML-N president has become a “self-appointed prime minister while sitting at home.”

Fawad had vowed that the “dream of the Opposition to oust the premier will be shattered” on Sunday when the members of the Parliament will gather in the house to vote for the no-confidence motion against the prime minister.

He had also said that Shahbaz’s son [Hamza Shahbaz] is eyeing the seat of chief minister in Punjab.
