Govt to retain PIA name & national identity

ISLAMABAD: During the process of purchasing the national airline PIA, the government has decided to maintain the national identity of PIA.

According to aviation sources, despite the new investment or partnership, the name of PIA will not be changed and the national airline will continue to be called “PIA”.

Sources say that PIA’s well-known logo and brand will also be maintained, while the historical and symbolic status of the national airline will not be affected. The government wants to maintain PIA as a national identity so that its historical legacy and public commitment remain.

According to aviation sources, the new investor will be allowed to make administrative and financial reforms, however, matters of national identity, brand and identity will be preserved as per the government policy.

Sources say that the government is committed to strengthening PIA as well as maintaining its national status.
