Gul Plaza Tragedy: Sindh cabinet approves Rs 10 million each to families of martyrs

KARACHI: Good news has come for the families of the martyrs of the Gul Plaza tragedy. The Sindh cabinet has decided that Rs 10 million each will be provided to the families of each martyr.

It was informed in a meeting of the provincial cabinet chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah that Rs 500,000 each is being paid to shopkeepers affected by the Gul Plaza tragedy through the commissioner for kitchen and utility expenses.

The cabinet also approved an interest-free loan of Rs 10 million each to the affected shopkeepers. The Sindh Chief Minister said that this loan is being given to the shopkeepers to help them restart their businesses, and the Sindh government will bear the interest due on Rs 10 million.

Murad Ali Shah further said that all affected shopkeepers will be provided with shop facilities to start business within two months, and the government will take all possible steps so that shopkeepers can resume business safely and conveniently.

This initiative is being described as an important step for the rehabilitation and facilitation of the citizens affected by the Gul Plaza tragedy.
