ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former federal minister Hammad Azhar on Thursday announced his resignation from the post of the party’s central Punjab president.

He made the announcement citing concern over limited access to party leadership through social media platform X and organizational decisions taken without their consent.

The PTI leader clarified that he did not hold any press conference regarding the resignation and did not make any deal.

Expressing his dissatisfaction with the direction taken by the party organization in Punjab, he said that many decisions have been taken on the basis of lobbying instead of merit. He also mentioned the restrictions on his movement and said that he could not risk going to Adiala.

Hammad Azhar emphasized that his opinion was often ignored in important decisions, and that the information provided to the party’s founding chairman was limited and one-sided.

Despite these challenges, PTI leaders have remained committed to the party’s vision, even as circumstances have forced them to relinquish their leadership roles.
