ISLAMABAD: On the instructions of the Prime Minister, the process for appointing Haroon Akhtar as Advisor to the Prime Minister on Industry and Production has moved into its final stage, according to official sources.
A formal summary has been sought for approval to appoint Haroon Akhtar under Article 93 of the Constitution. The summary is expected to be forwarded to the Cabinet Division for further processing and final approval.
Sources said the Prime Minister has expressed a clear desire to include Haroon Akhtar in his team as Advisor for Industry and Production, reflecting the government’s focus on strengthening the industrial policy framework.
The President has also reportedly directed that the summary be sent to the Cabinet Division to complete the formal approval process.
An appointment-related letter has already been issued under the signature of Dr. Syed Tauqir Shah, further advancing the procedural steps toward final notification.
With the process now in its concluding phase, the official announcement of Haroon Akhtar’s appointment is expected once all constitutional and cabinet formalities are completed.
