Mobile Internet suspended, heavy traffic barred from Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: In view of the possible law and order situation at Faizabad in Islamabad, the Islamabad Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic diversion plan.

According to the Traffic Police spokesperson, the entry of all types of heavy traffic into Islamabad will remain closed until further notice, while various alternative routes have been suggested for small vehicles so that citizens do not face any difficulties.

According to the notification, traffic flow has been changed on all four sides of Faizabad. The main diversion points are as follows:

Traffic will be closed from Rawal Dam Chowk towards Faizabad on both sides.

Those going from Bhara Kahu, Murree, and Islamabad to Rawalpindi should use Shahri Park Road, Captain Naeem Tufail Shaheed Chowk (Taramari), Lehtrar Road, and Express Highway. T

hose going to the airport should take Kashmir Chowk and Srinagar Highway.

Traffic going to Faizabad from the Garden Flyover and Khanna Pul has also been diverted. Those coming from Koral should use Lehtrar Road and Park Road.

Traffic going to Faizabad from Ninth Avenue and IJP Road has also been diverted to alternative routes.

Citizens have been advised to travel to Rawalpindi or Islamabad via Srinagar Highway, Rawal Dam Chowk, Park Road, and Golra Mor.

According to Islamabad Traffic Police, residents of F8, F9, F10, F11, G10, G11, and other sectors can travel to Rawalpindi via Golra Mor on Srinagar Highway.

The police have appealed to citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and seek guidance from ITP Radio 92.4 FM or the Islamabad Traffic Police WhatsApp channel for traffic updates.

Mobile Internet Suspended

The Interior Ministry’s letter states that 3G and 4G services will remain suspended in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, and 3G and 4G internet services will remain closed from 12 midnight tonight until further orders.

According to the letter, the mobile internet was shut down for security reasons, and arrangements for the suspension of mobile internet services in Islamabad and Rawalpindi should be completed.

The Interior Minister has issued instructions to the PTA, while the Islamabad Commissioner, IG, and RPO Rawalpindi have also been informed.
