RAWALPINDI: Helen Mary Roberts became the first Christian woman to be promoted to the Pakistan Army Medical Corps brigadier rank.
For the first time in the 76-year history of the Pakistan Army, a lady officer belonging to a minority community has been promoted to the one-star rank of brigadier.
There is a flood of good wishes and congratulations for the lady officer on social media.
There are many members of the Christian community serving in the Pakistan Army on different posts. Last year at an event, Chief of Army Staff Gen Asim Munir commended the Christian community’s contributions to Pakistan’s national development and praised their “outstanding” role in defending the motherland.
