Here’s how motorcycle owners can get fuel subsidy

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has finally revealed the mechanism for its long-awaited fuel subsidy for vehicle owners amid soaring petrol prices.

The sources have received information that only motorcycle riders currently qualify for the subsidy, while the authorities are still developing truck and transport bus procedures.

Sources confirmed that the subsidy will be transferred directly to registered owners’ bank accounts via digital wallets, which restrict eligibility to vehicles that the owner officially registered in their name.

Key Details of the Subsidy

  • Motorcycles: Rs. 100 per litre petrol subsidy.
  • Trucks: Rs. 70,000 per month for standard trucks;
  • Rs. 80,000 for heavy commercial vehicles.
  • Buses: Rs. 100,000 per month.
  • Small Farmers: Rs. 1,500 per acre as agricultural fuel support.

The government of Pakistan has launched a petrol subsidy app to address the rising prices of petrol. Its main goal is to provide fuel relief to people who struggle with daily travel expenses.

Who Can Apply for Petrol Subsidy?

Not everyone can apply. The government focuses on deserving people.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have a valid CNIC
  • Vehicle must be registered
  • Only bikes, rickshaws, or ≤800cc cars
  • Preference for BISP beneficiaries
  • Mobile number linked with CNIC

Why is it needed?

  • Lower fuel cost
  • Easier daily travel
  • Support for delivery riders
  • Help for students and workers

The targeted relief program exists to provide financial support for daily commuters and transportation businesses, and small farmers who face financial difficulties because of rising fuel expenses.
