ISLAMABAD: The federal government has finally revealed the mechanism for its long-awaited fuel subsidy for vehicle owners amid soaring petrol prices.
The sources have received information that only motorcycle riders currently qualify for the subsidy, while the authorities are still developing truck and transport bus procedures.
Sources confirmed that the subsidy will be transferred directly to registered owners’ bank accounts via digital wallets, which restrict eligibility to vehicles that the owner officially registered in their name.
Key Details of the Subsidy
- Motorcycles: Rs. 100 per litre petrol subsidy.
- Trucks: Rs. 70,000 per month for standard trucks;
- Rs. 80,000 for heavy commercial vehicles.
- Buses: Rs. 100,000 per month.
- Small Farmers: Rs. 1,500 per acre as agricultural fuel support.
