ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said that the existing discount on electric motorcycles, rickshaws, cars, and buses has been maintained.
While presenting the budget in the National Assembly, Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb said that the sales tax rate on imported electric trucks will be reduced by one percent.
He said that FED has been imposed on all petrol and diesel vehicles from 2,000 to 3,000 cc, while FED will also be applicable on electric vehicles worth more than 20 million.
According to the budget document, the total volume of the federal budget will be 18,771 billion rupees, 8,054 billion rupees are to be allocated for interest payments, and a total of 1,169 billion rupees are to be spent on pensions, of which 822 billion rupees are to be spent on military pensions while 272 billion rupees are to be spent on civil pensions.
It is estimated that 3,000 billion rupees will be allocated for defense, while 1,091 billion rupees are to be allocated for subsidies.
According to the budget document, the estimated expenditure on the civil government is estimated to be 1,071 billion rupees, while 430 billion rupees are to be allocated for dealing with emergency situations, and the total ongoing expenditure is estimated to be 17,495 billion rupees.
According to the budget document, the size of the federal development budget will be Rs 1050 billion, while the FBR’s tax collection target is estimated to be Rs 15,264 billion.
