IED blast in Bajaur injured 4 FC personnel

BAJAUR: At least nine individuals were injured in a massive roadside explosion in the Chamyar Johar area of Mamond Tehsil, Bajaur, on Tuesday, including four personnel from Frontier Corps.

According to security sources, a bomb disposal (BD) squad vehicle of the security forces was hit by a pre-installed improvised explosive device (IED) as it drove through the vicinity.

The explosion caused major damage and left several persons injured.

The injured FC soldiers have been named as Hazrat Ali, Zahid, Aleem, and Zarmulla. The persons injured in the blast included passers-by Ruhullah, Khaista, Taj, and two children, Jawad and Talha.

All of the injured were quickly sent to Bar Khalozo Hospital in Mamond Tehsil for medical care. According to hospital authorities, some of the injured are in stable condition, while others require additional medical attention.

Security forces promptly cordoned off the area and conducted an investigation into the incident. A search effort is also underway to identify individuals responsible for the incident.

Earlier in the day, a deadly blast targeted a truck carrying Balochistan Constabulary personnel, fellow personnel in Mastung, killing three personnel and injuring 16 personnel.

An improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in the Shamsabad area of Mastung when the Balochistan Constabulary vehicle was en route from Kalat, leaving as many as 16 FC men wounded in the incident.

The Balochistan government spokesperson, Shahid Rind, said that an emergency has been declared in Bolan Medical Complex and Civil Hospital Quetta.

Those injured, including two personnel, are being shifted to Quetta due to their condition, of which two are in critical condition.
