IG Punjab likely to be transfered

LAHORE: In a recent development, Sources from the provincial government indicate that Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar will be replaced.

The sources said several names are under consideration for the post of Punjab IG, including CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana, Additional IG Counter Terrorism Department Waseem Sial, and Rao Abdul Karim. His next federal posting will occur at some point in the future.

Federal government sources further said that Dr Usman Anwar is likely to be posted as Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director General following his transfer from Punjab.
