KARACHI: Karachi residents can now benefit from a new verification app that allows them to apply for and receive arms licenses and airport entry passes online.

IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon launched the app during his visit to the Special Branch Sindh. This new tool will enable citizens to handle these processes from the comfort of their homes.

Additionally, during a comprehensive briefing, the DIG Special Branch noted the department’s achievements, including a significant reduction in street crimes compared to the previous year.

The decrease in organized crime and smuggling was attributed to effective intelligence efforts, which have also led to the arrest of several scrap dealers involved in illegal activities.

Moreover, IG Sindh highlighted the importance of creating a digital database of criminals to boost law enforcement efficiency. He also emphasized the need to reorganize the department to adapt to modern requirements, ensuring the Special Branch stays effective in combating crime in Sindh.

The app is part of a larger effort to streamline procedures and enhance public accessibility, demonstrating the Sindh Police’s commitment to utilizing technology for improved service delivery.
