LAHORE: In a recent development, talking to media in Lahore, the sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, Aleema Khan claimed that former prime minister Imran Khan will be released from police custody within twenty days.

Additionally, she told reporters about the November 24 protest, stating that the government felt “compelled” to react to turmoil and public protests.

Aleema Khan claims that the administration was compelled to take action when protest convoys arrived. As a result, Barrister Gohar was sent to the infamous Adiala Jail to meet with Imran Khan.

She said that to soothe the mounting public unhappiness, the PML-N-led administration stated during the meeting that it intended to expedite the former prime minister’s release.

Furthermore, she claims that the government took action in response to the arrival of protest convoys, sending Barrister Gohar to speak with Imran Khan in jail. The government stated its intention to support Khan’s release during this meeting, she said, stressing the need to allay the mounting public unrest.

Aleema discussed accelerating the court case against her well-known brother. She maintained that all parties would save time and avoid needless delays if the trial proceeded quickly.

She expressed disapproval of the court system’s current status, pointing out that the Jinnah House case had not made any notable headway.

According to her, the PTI leadership wanted the trials to start right away and wasn’t asking for bail.

Aleema also raised concerns about the prosecution’s dearth of evidence, arguing that the drawn-out court cases have resulted in a waste of time and money for all parties.

Imran Khan claimed that there was an international conspiracy against him, which led to his removal from government in April 2022. The PTI founder has been involved in several cases since his removal, which compelled him to resign as the party’s leader.

With accusations ranging from corruption to poor management, his political party has also been at the center of controversy.
