In a major drug bust, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seize Pakistan’s ‘Largest Ever’ shipment of crystal meth.  A staggering 224 kilograms of crystal meth, concealed ingeniously within the roof and doors of five shipping containers, was intercepted at Karachi port.

A representative for the ANF said in a statement that the drugs were originally hidden in a shipment of soapstone that was ostensibly going to be exported through Afghanistan to Belgium.

The intricate smuggling scheme involves the transit of illegal goods from Afghanistan into Karachi, a significant port city in Pakistan, via the Torkham border crossing.

After receiving information about the unusual shipment, ANF officers conducted a thorough investigation that resulted in the finding of drugs concealed in the doors and roof of the five shipping containers. The smugglers’ use of concealment emphasizes how sophisticated and crafty the illegal drug trade is.

The illicit drugs were stopped from reaching their intended destination at Karachi port when the ANF swiftly and decisively seized all five containers. In addition, three people connected to the smuggling attempt—two of whom were citizens of Afghanistan—were detained by law officials as they tried to avoid arrest and escape over the Torkham border to return home.

The ANF underlined its steadfast dedication to stopping drug trafficking and protecting communities from the terrible effects of drugs.

This operation’s success highlights the agency’s commitment to maintaining law and order and reducing illegal drug traffic inside Pakistan’s borders.
