The army is well aware of its constitutional limits and expects others to prioritize upholding the Constitution as well, COAS Asim Munir said on Thursday.
“Those who blatantly disregard these limitations cannot point fingers at others,” he said while addressing the passing out parade of the Pakistan Air Force. “Article 19 of the Constitution clearly defines the boundaries of freedom of expression.”
The COAS admitted that advances in robots, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing are changing the face of aerial warfare.
He emphasized the need to have a powerful air force to protect a country’s sovereignty and noted that the PAF has met the aspirations of the country.
He referred to the event that occurred in February 2019 as a “prime example” of the Air Force’s bravery and professionalism in defending the country’s airspace in the face of difficulties.
In highlighting the ongoing crisis in Gaza, the army chief bemoaned the senseless slaughter of civilians as proof of escalating violence worldwide.
He also addressed the Kashmir issue, condemning India’s illegal occupation and emphasizing that the world’s silence cannot suppress the resounding calls for freedom in the occupied region. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering moral, political, and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people.
He reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast moral, political, and diplomatic backing for the people of Kashmir.
As “the center of our hopes, guardians of the skies, and guarantors of regional solidarity,” the COAS praised the cadets.
He emphasized that they should live lives that are characterized by “character, courage, and competence,” establishing a high standard for both the prestigious institution they represent and for themselves.
