ISLAMABAD: The internet outage hit Pakistan on Wednesday afternoon, as major service tracking websites have reported a possible disruption from service providers nationwide.

Downdetector, a global service monitoring website, showed that hundreds of users indicate a problem with PTCL and Nayatel, two major internet service providers in the country.

The website showed that 163 reports were received about the PTCL service outage from users in Pakistan at 3:29 pm.

Similarly, the Downdetector also indicated problems with Nayatel as 180 users reported complaints at 3:16 pm.

“We are experiencing a nationwide internet slowdown due to an outage in one of our two upstream providers. This issue is impacting a major part of internet traffic across Pakistan,” Nayatel wrote on X.

The service providers said that they are actively monitoring the situation and working closely with the provider.
