ISLAMABAD: Founder of Awaam Raj Party and former television host Iqrar-ul-Hassan and singer-turned-politician Jawad Ahmed exchanged sharp remarks during a talk show appearance, sparking debate at ABN News program “Tajzia”.
Iqrar-ul-Hassan alleged that a Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) official verbally abused him at the airport and warned that he would respond strongly if he or his family were targeted. He also criticized political parties over a lack of tolerance.
Jawad Ahmed, meanwhile, claimed that PTI’s social media was targeting him and said some journalists behave inappropriately, adding that such behavior sometimes invites a firm response. He also remarked that he considers himself far better than politicians like Imran Khan.
While commenting on Jawad Ahmed’s personality, Iqrar stated that Jawad Ahmed’s unwavering struggle and his quality of never bowing down to anyone are commendable.
Jawad Ahmed has a special place in society for making independent decisions beyond political interests, Iqrar-ul-Hassan added.
Jawad Ahmed’s private life and family values are a beacon for others. It is absolutely inappropriate for government officials to express political opinions while performing their duties.
It is illegal for any official to make statements based on political bias during their duty. It is necessary to discuss the right of an employee to make political comments instead of the content of his speech.
Furthermore, he stated that A person appointed to a public office should stay away from all kinds of political formats.
Iqrar-ul-Hassan’s announcement not to contest elections and not to be a candidate for any political office
I will never ask for votes; my struggle is only an ideological and intellectual movement, Iqrar-ul-Hassan.
I will never seek personal interests or positions through political movements I have no intention of, Iqrar-ul-Hassan
The ideological struggle aims to bring qualified people to power based on merit and democracy. I say to Allah, knowing that I will never take any position in my life, Iqrar-ul-Hassan.
My movement aims to bring about a conscious change in the political system and bring qualified leaders to the fore. A person who has spent 2 decades in journalism has the right to raise his voice for his rights.
Instead of the reaction against me, the correctness of the steps I have taken should be discussed.
After highlighting public issues for 25 years, it is now my right to speak for myself.
It is more important to examine the truth of my actions than the justification for the reaction.
The impression of taking the law into my own hands is wrong; it is my right to raise my voice against inappropriate behavior, Iqrar-ul-Hassan stated.
Unfortunately, officers are being given special protocols based on political affiliations, Iqrar-ul-Hassan
Keeping silence on the exploitation of ordinary citizens standing in queues is a sign of integrity It is against, Iqrar-ul-Hassan.
I did not ridicule or abuse anyone; I only raised my voice in the public interest. Raising my voice on social issues should not be likened to going to court or giving a verdict.
Sometimes it becomes a compulsion to be harsh while fulfilling journalistic responsibilities. I strongly condemn those who use political phrases on citizens who are with their families.
Harassing someone in the presence of their wife and children is an immoral act. Interference in private life based on political differences is not acceptable in any way. The misbehavior of supporters of a particular political party in public places is a very regrettable behavior, Iqrar concluded.
