Islamabad administration suspends NOC for PTI public gathering

ISLAMABAD: The Chief Commissioner of Islamabad has suspended the No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for public gathering a day before the scheduled meeting, here on Friday.

As per the details, the decision was taken during a meeting presided over by the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, in which security agencies expressed their concerns about the potential risks associated with the rally.

During the meeting, the participants reviewed the applications related to the rally and the prior permission of the Deputy Commissioner.

The Chief Commissioner decided to suspend the NOC for the session after reviewing the requests and security concerns.

According to officials, the decision to suspend the NOC was taken to ensure the restoration of law and order in the city. Authorities have stressed that the safety of citizens is their top priority, and all necessary measures will be taken to maintain law and order in the city.

Earlier, the district administration of the federal capital had given permission to Tehreek-e-Insaf to hold a public gathering near Tarnol Chowk on July 6.

After the NOC was issued, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) disposed of the request to issue the NOC for the appointment. Justice Babar Sattar of the Islamabad High Court heard the petition regarding the permission of the PTI rally in the federal capital.
