Islamabad announces traffic plan amid foreign delegation visit today

ISLAMABAD: Traffic in Islamabad, is to be disrupted on Thursday, afternoon, from noon 12 pm to 2:00 pm on account of the visit of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.

According to the sources, he is accompanied by a high-level delegation which includes ministers, senior officials, and top businessmen.

Chief Traffic Police have suggested that strict measures be in place at various points, including Koral Chowk, Express Highway, Khanna Pul, Faizabad, Club Road, Murree Road, Faisal Avenue, and Srinagar Highway, for security reasons. Temporarily stopping of traffic will also occur at times during the VIP movement.

To minimize inconvenience, the CTO has suggested that commuters use alternate routes. Those traveling from Express Highway and Srinagar Highway can use service roads.

Ninth Avenue and H-8 Underpass could also be used as an alternative route. For traffic heading toward the Red Zone, faster options include using Margalla Road, Express Chowk, Ayub Chowk, and Nadra Chowk.

Commuters may travel from the Red Zone to Faizabad via Convention Center and Club Road. Traffic police on duty would be provided at various locations to help and assist the public.
