ISLAMABAD: In preparation for Eid-ul-Adha, the district administration of Islamabad has approved the establishment of six cattle markets within the Islamabad capital territory’s jurisdiction.

The district administration has released a notice in this respect to establish cattle markets. According to the notice, the cattle markets will be arranged at Sangjani, I-15, I-12, Bhara Kahu, Lahtar Road, and Expressway.

All cattle markets have also designated key contacts. Assistant Commissioner Maheen Hassan will be the main point of contact for the Sangjani cattle market. Muhammad Ali for Lahtar Road and Fahad Cheema for the Express Highway market; Assistant Commissioner Farwa Batool for I-12; Assistant Commissioner Nehal Abdullah for I-15; Assistant Commissioner Uzair Ali Khan for Bara Kahu.

In Pakistan, Eid-ul-Adha is expected to fall on June 7. One of the two most important Islamic holidays, Eidul al-Adha celebrates Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.)’s steady faith, as shown by his willingness to sacrifice his son upon Allah’s order.

In line with Islamic principles, a major festival rite is Qurbani—the killing of goats, cows, sheep, or camels.

Sharing the meat among friends, family, and the less fortunate symbolizes compassion, unity, and the giving attitude.
