ISLAMABAD: In a tragic incident, A body has been recovered from near the PTV Headquarters H-9/2, according to police.
Police sources say that the deceased is around 40 years old and was shot from behind.
After the initial investigation, the deceased has been identified as Sheikh Abdul Rauf, who was a lawyer by profession.
As soon as the incident was reported, the police of the Industrial Area Police Station, Islamabad, immediately reached the scene.
The police collected evidence while the body was shifted to the hospital for a post-mortem for legal action.
According to police officials, an investigation has been launched to find out the reasons for the murder and arrest the accused, and the matter is being reviewed from various angles.
On the other hand, the Islamabad Bar Association has expressed a strong reaction to the murder of the lawyer and announced a complete strike tomorrow.
According to the Bar Association, lawyers in the district court will boycott court proceedings. In a statement issued by the Islamabad Bar Association, the murder of Sheikh Abdul Rauf Advocate has been strongly condemned, and the authorities have been demanded to immediately arrest the killers and bring them to justice.
The statement said that the protection of the lives and property of lawyers is the responsibility of all law enforcement agencies, including the police, but recent incidents show that the agencies are failing to protect lawyers.
The Bar Association has made it clear that silence on the brutal murder of lawyers will not be tolerated and if immediate and effective steps are not taken, the scope of the protest can be further expanded.
