ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkiye met in Islamabad to reduce the ongoing tension in the Middle East.
The meeting was attended by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdul Ati.
The meeting of the four foreign ministers discussed the situation of tension in the region and issues related to the ceasefire. Efforts to resolve issues through negotiations and diplomacy for peace and stability in the region were discussed.
Before the important meeting, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also contacted Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, both leaders described negotiations and diplomacy as the only effective way for lasting peace.
According to Iran, Pakistan strongly condemned the Israeli and American aggression against Iran, and the meeting of the four foreign ministers to try to prevent war was also discussed.
