Islamabad police dismisses policemen involved in kidnapping, bribery

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police officials have been found involved in serious crimes and illegal activities, including detaining citizens without cause, drug trafficking, bribery, and even running a kidnapping gang.

Following a departmental inquiry, SSP Operations Islamabad, Arslan Shahzeb, took swift action, dismissing three police officials implicated in these crimes.

The dismissed cops include Head Constable Farrukh Aftab, Constable Zulfiqar, and Constable Rameez Satti — all were deployed at Police Station Lohibher.

According to the dismissal order, a copy of which is available with Daily Ausaf, the aforementioned policemen were found involved in immoral activities and have set up their network for engaging in extorting money from the public, established influence in the area for getting own motives, supporting illicit business through his touts.

Furthermore, police inquiry found that they harassed the individuals and demanding bribes for releasing them.

Following the corruption in the police department, DIG Operations Ali Raza has also decided to file a case against these individuals and expressed commitment to rooting out corruption within the department.
