ISLAMABAD: In a recent development, the Islamabad police have taken a firm stand within their ranks against officer misconduct as they have terminated the services of three people charged with harassment of a family in the federal capital.

The incident took place in sector F-11, where, during a snap checking, a family in a car was stopped and harassed by Dolphin Force personnel. The victims filed a complaint with the Islamabad police, which led Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations of Islamabad, Syed Ali Raza, to order an inquiry into the whole matter.

The inspection found the three cops-Aqib, Ali Haider, and Talha were guilty of misconduct and got terminated from their jobs. DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza made it clear that there was no room for misuse of authority while maintaining the law to protect citizens.

In a seperate incident, the Islamabad police affected the seizure of an enormous quantity of heavy weapons being taken from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Islamabad.

According to SSP Operations and Investigation Arslan Shahzeb, on the basis of a report, police intercepted sweeping containers of arms-enough to excite any sensitive agency-and arrested one suspected person from the place.

These comprised 272 pistols of different calibers, 20 advanced automatic rifles with magazines, and over 23,000 rounds of ammunition. Moreover, 150 grams of ice (methamphetamine) and 4.45 kilograms of heroin were found in the suspected person’s possession.

Investigations have further revealed that he is a hardened criminal with cases regarding his criminal record (that is, he is implicated in not fewer than eight other cases across the districts of Punjab).

A case has been registered at Tarnol Police Station and is under investigation. In his own words, SSP Arslan Shahzeb reiterated the resolve to deal with criminals; thrusting again main focus of the police for the protection of citizens.
