Jaffar Express operation: Security forces rescue all hostages, kill terrorists

RAWALPINDI: Security forces neutralized all terrorists and rescued all passengers, who were taken hostages by militants after the Jaffar Express hijack in Balochistan’s Bolan district, the military’s media wing confirmed the end of operation on Wednesday night.

DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that the operation against the terrorists who attacked the Jaffar Express near the Mashkaf Tunnel in the Bolan Pass has been successfully completed and all hostages have been recovered.

In these remarks, the military’s spokesperson added that 33 terrorists have been killed, while 21 passengers were martyred before the operation.

According to DG ISPR, four FC soldiers also sacrificed themselves in the operation, and all the hostage passengers, including women and children, have been rescued.

DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that on March 11, terrorists targeted the railway track in Bolan.

DG ISPR said that the terrorists took the passengers hostage in the Jafar Express. The terrorists were in contact in Afghanistan during the operation. The terrorists were using the passengers as shields.

DG ISPR said that the area is difficult and far from the population, innocent people were targeted through the will and facilitation of foreign masters, the terrorists used the hostages as human shields, the terrorists have no connection with the religion of Islam and Balochistan.

He said that the rescue operation was started immediately, the soldiers of the Pakistan Army, Air Force, FC, and SSG participated in the rescue operation, the terrorists had made the passengers sit in three groups, the hostages were rescued in stages.

According to DG ISPR, we rescued the hostages without any loss in the final operation, no passenger was harmed in the final clearance operation, the operation was carried out with great caution and professionalism.
