Islamabad: Journalists across Pakistan are expressing discontent over the alleged unfair distribution of plots by the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA). The controversy has sparked widespread outrage within the journalist community, with concerns raised about transparency and fairness in the plot allocation process.

The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has joined the chorus of disapproval, condemning the process and vowing to fight for the rights of journalists, particularly those working in government institutions. The PFUJ has announced its intention to take legal action against those responsible for the alleged irregularities, emphasizing the need for accountability.

Similarly, the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) has strongly condemned RUDA’s controversial allocation of plots to journalists. Labeling it as “unfair distribution,” the CPNE criticized the lack of a fair lottery system and highlighted the selective choices made by RUDA, which seemed to favor specific individuals rather than deserving journalists.

Furthermore, the CPNE expressed concern over the exclusion of journalists from state media, despite their contributions and higher salaries, suggesting potential biases against journalists from certain channels or newspapers. The CPNE emphasized the need for justice and accountability, particularly regarding the involvement of RUDA officers and employees in questionable activities during the allocation process.
