JUI-F expels Senator Ahmed Khan over 27th Amendment vote

ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) has expelled Senator Ahmed Khan from the party for violating party guidelines and voting in favor of the 27th Constitutional Amendment.

JUI says that Ahmed Khan should immediately resign from the Senate seat; if Ahmed Khan does not resign, they will approach the Election Commission for disqualification.

It should be noted that the Senate has passed the 27th Constitutional Amendment. 64 members voted in favor of the amendment bill, while no votes were cast in opposition.

PTI Senator Saifullah Abro and JUI’s Ahmed Khan also voted in favor of the amendment.

Later, while addressing the Senate, PTI Senator Saifullah Abro announced his resignation.
