KARACHI: A local holiday has been declared in Karachi on June 8 on the occasion of the annual Urs of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi.
The Human Resource Management Department of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has also issued a formal notification in this regard.
According to the notification issued, there will be a local holiday in the city on 22 Dhul-Hijjah 1447 AH, corresponding to June 8, 2026, on the occasion of the Urs of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi.
This decision has been taken in light of a resolution passed by the City Council of Karachi.
The notification stated that all offices managed by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation will remain closed on the holiday; however, institutions providing essential and emergency services will continue to perform their duties as usual, so that there is no problem in providing basic facilities to the citizens.
