KARACHI: The Karachi Traffic Police have declared a complete traffic control system for Eid shopping. DIG Traffic Pir Muhammad Shah stated that section officers and traffic personnel will begin their work today throughout various parts of the city.

The team will conduct market assessments throughout the entire operational period between 7 PM and midnight, when all businesses cease their activities.

The DIG Traffic announced that police units will be deployed at key intersections and high-traffic areas to control vehicle movement. The city will prohibit rickshaws and taxis from entering high-traffic zones, which extend from Allah Wali Chowrangi to Ittehad Signal.

Commercial vehicles must select different driving paths, which include Allah Wali to Noorani Signal, Madi Care, and Shaheed-e-Millat Road. Drigh Road vehicles will be permitted through Millennium Bridge to NEPA, but no rickshaws and taxis can access the area below the bridge.

North Karachi commercial vehicles must divert through Five Star Chowrangi to Sharah Noorjahan and Landhi Kotri Chowrangi when Haidri Market experiences heavy traffic.

Board Office traffic must travel through D.A. Chowrangi until reaching Ziauddin Chowrangi and then proceed to Sharah Noorjahan toward North Karachi. The city will restrict rickshaws and taxis from operating between Fawara and GPO and between Singer Chowk and Zaib-un-Nisa Street.

The city requires rickshaws taxis and commercial vehicles to travel from Fawara through M.R. Kayani Chowk and Sarwar Shaheed Road, and Coast Guard to Regal and Tibet Center.

The recommended routes for MA Jinnah Road traffic include Singer Chowk, Preedy Street, and Saddar Dawakhana. The city will prohibit rickshaws and taxis from using Tibet Chowk until they reach Eidgah Chowk, which includes Jama Cloth.

Drivers should take Urdu Bazaar to Court Road Chowk or Fresco Chowk. The city offers three alternative routes for traffic during times of severe congestion, which include Clifton Bridge to Teen Talwar and Race Course and Chaudhry Khaliq-uz-Zaman Road. B
