KARACHI: Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi landed in Karachi on Tuesday on the third leg of his official visit to Pakistan.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Governor Kamran Tessori welcomed the Iranian president at the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. Upon his arrival, the Iranian president visited Mazar-e-Quaid and paid tribute to the founder of the nation Qauid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
He arrived port city after completing his Lahore trip where he visited Mazar-i-Iqbal and met with the Governor and Chief Minister of Punjab.

Major roads in Karachi have been closed to traffic as part of strict security measures taken ahead of the arrival of the Iranian President. The metropolis’ traffic police shared an alternate traffic plan for commuters. To avoid any inconvenience to the general public, the government announced a local holiday in the provincial capital.
Earlier, Ebrahim Raisi arrived in Islamabad on Monday on a three-day official visit from April 22 to 24. Raisi’s visit is the first by any head of state to Islamabad after Shehbaz Sharif took charge of the PM office after the February 8 polls.
