Karachi faces power & gas shutdowns during Iftar & Sehri times

KARACHI: Citizens face difficulties due to electricity and gas shutdown during Iftar in various areas, commissioner system directed to take action.

The Commissioner’s Office has sent letters to the CEO of K-Electric and MD of Sui Gas Company, emphasizing uninterrupted electricity and gas supply during Iftar and Sehri.

Several areas of Karachi, including Liaquatabad B Area, Liaquatabad No. 4, Federal Capital Area and North Nazimabad, faced gas shutdown during Iftar.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Sui Southern Gas denied these claims, saying that gas supply is normal in 95 percent of areas, while complaints have been received from only 5 percent of areas of the city.
