KARACHI: A shocking incident has come to light in Karachi, the economic hub of the country, where a young man is in critical condition after eating a sandwich with a metal earring.

The victim, identified as Samuel, said he got a sandwich from Imtiaz Superstore and later started bleeding from his mouth while eating breakfast. The boy was taken to a nearby laboratory, where an X-ray scan revealed the presence of pearls in his abdomen.

To the shock of many, the management of the popular superstore in the port city did not act quickly to resolve the situation. Instead, they sent the man home without treatment.

The man was lucky because the metal pieces did not cause internal bleeding, which could have had more serious consequences.

After the unsatisfactory response, the man also filed a complaint at the Korangi Industrial Area police station. The citizens of the provincial capital are approaching the Consumer Court and the Sindh Food Authority to ensure a thorough investigation into the matter and prevent such incidents in the future.

Imtiaz Superstore has not yet shared any official statement regarding this untoward incident. A report shared by a digital publication claims that the superstore management has also started investigating and treating the person who injured himself.
