KARACHI: A local court in Karachi sentenced a man to 9 years in jail and fined Rs60,000 in a case related to the circulation of explicit photos of a female TikTok star.
The Judicial Magistrate East in Karachi announced the verdict after the prosecution succeeded in proving the charges. The accused, Altaf Ali, was found guilty of damaging the woman’s dignity by circulating her explicit photos.
Along with the sentence and imposition of a fine, the court’s decision stated that if the fine is not paid, the accused will face additional punishment.
The plaintiff, a TikTok star, had filed a complaint with the FIA Cyber Crime Circle. She alleged that the defendant had invited her to his home for a project and had drugged their juice, causing both her and her mother to fall unconscious.
As per the complainant, the accused clicked the explicit photos of her and her mother while they were unconscious. The accused Altaf Ali also shared the explicit photos with others. FIA Cyber Crime Circle arrested the culprit and was sentenced under the PECA Act.
