FIA arrests two passengers at Karachi airport over fake travel documents

FIA raids Hawala Hundi operators in Karachi, seizes Rs25 million

KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration unit has arrested two passengers at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport for carrying counterfeit travel documents.

The suspects, Shamsuddin from Attock and Muhammad Yaqub from Rajanpur were detained during immigration clearance after their passports were discovered to have fake Iraqi visas.

The FIA stated that each individual had paid over Rs 300,000 to agents for the forged documents.

These arrests are part of an ongoing initiative to combat illegal travel activities at the airport, with further investigations in progress.

Moreover, last month FIA Immigration also apprehended a human trafficker attempting to smuggle Pakistanis abroad from Jinnah International Airport.

The trafficker, Sajid Mahmood, was linked to a human smuggling case in Gujarat. He tried to flee to Azerbaijan but was intercepted by Interpol at the airport and is now under their custody for additional investigation.
