Matric exams of Karachi Board to resume from 28 May

KARACHI: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has announced that the 2024 exams will resume on Tuesday, May 28. This decision comes after the original postponement because of an anticipated heat wave that initially put students’ health in danger.

Background and security measures

The exams were initially scheduled for May 21 and 27 but were postponed to ensure student safety amid extreme weather conditions. The resumption of exams comes after Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz confirmed that there is no imminent threat of heatwave in Karachi thanks to the active sea breeze.
