KARACHI: The General Manager of Pakistan Steel Mills has been arrested on charges of iron ore and copper theft from the company’s stores.
According to the police, Syed Saadat Ali was arrested by the Bin Qasim Police while acting on a tip-off.
During the raid, authorities seized 40 kilograms of copper worth millions of rupees and the very vehicle used to transport the stolen materials.
Police said that the accused used to secretly transport these valuable metals and other scrap out of the country and sell them in various warehouses.
The police have taken the vehicle used by the accused into custody under the procedure and registered a case while further investigation is underway.
The accused was working as a manager in the ACTC department of the steel mill and was the GM of four departments.
