KARACHI: In a tragic event in the port city, at least two women lost their lives when a dumper overturned onto a car, according to media reports.

The incident occurred on Karachi’s Rashid Minhas Road, resulting in the death of the two women. The rescue official rushed to the scene and shifted the bodies to the nearby hospital.

While another woman was injured in the accident, the identity of the deceased and the injured is yet to be known. Initial reports suggest the vehicle was crushed under the heavy dumper, resulting in fatal consequences.

In another development, The Karachi traffic police have decided to take an important step toward enhancing road safety by installing front and rear cameras on all dumpers and trucks.

The action came into being after a meeting with the Goods Carrier Association aimed at improving traffic law enforcement and understanding the reasons behind accidents involving these vehicles.

According to DIG Traffic, these cameras will significantly help in driver monitoring and the investigation of incidents. He put forth that huge numbers of dumpers and trucks ply the roads in Karachi, and in the past, many investigations have not taken off due to the unavailability of evidence.

The cameras are expected to help in understanding the prevention of accidents in the city.
