Water supply suspended in parts of Karachi for 72 hours

KARACHI: The Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation (KW&SW) has announced the water supply suspension for many areas of Karachi for the next 72 hours.

Karachi Water Corporation spokesperson said that repair work is underway on the affected lines in Manno Goth, Gulshan Iqbal, Peeli Kothi, and Liaquatabad.

The spokesperson said that the 48-inch diameter line of FTM, and 54-inch diameter line of CTM are being repaired, and the repair work of the water lines will be completed in 72 hours.

According to the department, water supply will be fully suspended in Liaquatabad, Nazimabad, Pak Colony, Golimar, Sher Shah, and Old City area, while water supply will be partially suspended in Landhi, Korangi, PAF Base Masroor.

The spokesperson has appealed to the public to use water carefully for the next 72 hours.

The spokesperson said that the city is supplied with 650 MGD of water daily, due to the repair work, the city will face a shortage of 250 MGD of water daily.

“The supply of 400 MGD water to the city will continue as usual,” the spokesperson said.
